Jeff Hurd, Murray Smith, Wanda James Qualify for State Primary Ballot

Denver, April 15, 2026 - The Elections Division of the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office announced today that Jeff Hurd, Republican Candidate for United States House of Representatives District 3, Murray Smith, Democratic candidate for CU Regent District 2, and Wanda James, Democratic Candidate for United States House of Representatives District 1, have submitted the required number of signatures to appear on the June 30, 2026 State Primary ballot.

Candidates for United States House of Representatives and the University of Colorado Board of Regents are required to collect 1,500 signatures (or 10% of votes cast in the last election, whichever is smaller) in their district, a requirement outlined by 1-4-801(2)(a.5), C.R.S.

Jeff Hurd submitted 2,005 valid signatures, eclipsing the 1,500-signature threshold.
